What happens when I delete a group or subgroup?

Regarding students

All students will stop being members of that group or subgroup.

Regarding courses and learning paths

All courses or learning paths associated with the group or subgroup will be automatically disassociated.

Students currently enrolled in those courses or learning paths:

a. will not be able to continue them, but their progress information will be preserved, including completion certificates. These courses will be marked as “Not visible.” Access will only be restored if an admin reassigns those courses to the students.

b. Exception: students invited directly to that course by an administrator before joining the group will keep their progress and be able to continue the course under that admin’s management.

Regarding Admins

Admins linked to the deleted group will lose their management rights over it. Here’s how it breaks down:

  1. Owners and General Admins: They will maintain control over all other students, groups, and content on the platform.

  2. Group Admins and Team Managers: They will retain control over other subgroups under their management. However, if the deleted group was their only (sub)group, they will no longer manage students or metrics but they can still create and edit content.
